If you haven’t checked out Amazon’s cloud player, you may want to. You can get it on your desktop, laptop, tablet or smartphone. I have it on multiple devices.
The cloud player is pretty much like any other music player such as iTunes, but with one distinct advantage – it takes up almost no hard drive space.
If you don’t want to pay anything, you can download the cloud player and upload as many as 250 songs for free. That’s not a lot of songs, but it’s free. If you run out of space, you can delete songs you’re not listening to and upload new music.
They also have a paid service, which I use and think is a steal. For $24.99 a year I can upload as many as 250,000 songs (the cloud player actually tells me I can upload unlimited songs). That’s a lot of songs, and they take up zero space on my smartphone because they’re on the cloud.
If you’re not sure if that’s really a good deal, consider that a 160GB iPod holds approximately 40,000 songs and costs $249.00. I’ll never buy an iPod again.
