Here’s a great way to get practice on a lit of different things in a short amount of time.

Lightning rounds.

Pick anywhere from 4-6 things you have trouble playing perfectly the first time you try.

Maybe an arpeggio, a scale sequence, or a solo. It can be anything, really.

Make a list of them so you can keep track of them.

Play each one slowly.

Slow means slow enough to play it correctly.

Go through each one 5-7 times, then move on to the next one.

Eventually, you will be able to play each one correctly the first time you try (at regular speed).

When that happens, remove it from the list and add something else.

It may take some time, depending on the difficulty.

This can be a very effective way to practice for maximum progress, which is a major part of what I teach my students.
