Would you like to learn how to play the guitar effortlessly?
Are you serious about finally getting around to playing guitar?
Do you want a teacher who can save you a lot of time and wasted effort?
If you’re here, it’s probably because you either:
- Just bought a guitar and don’t know where to start
- Have had a guitar for a long time, but never got around to playing it
- Played guitar a long time ago and finally have the time to get back into it
Look, I understand. A lot of my students came to me because for years they’ve wanted to play, but life got in the way. Don’t let that stop you from following your dreams of playing guitar! If you’ve got passion and dedication, I will supply top notch instruction to get you to where you want to be in the shortest amount of time possible.
I will help you avoid the mistakes many beginning guitarists make!
Mistake #1 – Trying to learn on your own from books, DVDs, or YouTube.
While some people may have success with these methods, the vast majority of guitar players will not find a book, DVD or YouTube to be an effective way to learn guitar. Why? Because as a student you simply do not know if what you’re doing is correct or if you’re forming bad habits.
Mistake #2 – Getting stuck trying to master chords
The first and biggest hurdle every guitarist has to overcome is playing chords and being able to switch between them smoothly, easily, and effortlessly. With out unique system of teaching chords (and with the help of a simple little tool you can take with you anywhere) we will help you master every chord so you don’t get frustrated because you can’t get to that D chord fast enough.
Mistake #3 – Forming bad habits that stop you from progressing
This is, by far, the most damaging mistake beginners make. Many guitar players are able to progress to a certain point and then stall. Unless they are able to identify the cause of their problem, this stall will last forever, despite their best efforts. We will make sure you do NOT form bad habits so this doesn’t happen.
Mistake #4 – Not knowing how to practice effectively so you make fast progress
The fact is, it doesn’t matter how good your lessons are if you don’t know how to practice when you go home, and this is where most guitar lessons fall short. Knowing the exact strategies and techniques for practicing can help you progress 2 or 3 times faster than the typical guitarist. In fact, we’ve had students tell us they’ve learned more in months than they did in years with previous teachers! Practicing correctly makes all the difference in the world!
Mistake #5 – Not knowing what to focus on first, second, third, etc.
It’s not enough to get a lot of cool stuff to practice. You have to learn in a logical, coherent way that places skills in the right order and helps you progress in a natural way. Most self-taught guitarists learn from multiple sources and get confused about what should come first, second, third and so on. I will guide you at every step of the way so you feel confident knowing that you’re learning everything you should at the right time.
Mistake #6 – Giving up because you don’t have “natural talent”
Despite popular belief, natural talent is not necessary to learn to play an instrument. Although some people may have certain aptitudes for the instrument, it is not necessary to be a natural! The most important factor for any guitarist is dedication. If you practice consistently over time, you can become a good or even great guitar player.
Mistake #7 – Not having a strategy for becoming the kind of player you want to be
It is very rare that beginning guitarist has a well thought out strategy for becoming the kind of player they want to be. Simply learning a lot of chords, while good, isn’t enough to really understand how to play your favorite songs, jam with friends, or be able to play at an open mic.

Details You Might Be Wondering About:
How often does the class meet?
The class will meet once a week for one hour.
I’ve never played guitar before, is this the right course for me?
This is the course you need to build a solid foundation for your playing. It’s created with you in mind and assumes you don’t know anything about guitar.
I’ve played before but only know some chords and not much else, should I take this course?
Yes, this course would be great for you too. If you know some chords and can strum but consider yourself a beginner, this course would be a great fit. The beauty of this course is that I can customize it to to a certain extent for people who have played before but still aren’t beyond the basics.
I’m nervous about playing with other people around, will I be embarrassed?
Absolutely not! I never put anyone on the spot and I won’t tolerate anyone poking fun at other people (and I’ve actually never had that happen in any of my courses). I enjoy making the environment warm, inviting, and fun, and I don’t expect anyone to do anything that makes them uncomfortable.
Since this is a group course, will I get any one on one attention?
This course is limited to only 4 people for this exact reason. Yes, you need one on one attention, and by limiting this to only 4 people, you’ll get plenty of it.
When will the next course begin?
The next course will begin on Friday, March 23, 2018 at 4:30pm and will meet every Friday at 4:30pm for six consecutive weeks.
